Helping teams feel empowered and experience innovation in a connecting environment

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

- Bogdan Lucaciu, Chief Technology Officer at Adore Me

Having Eduard with us was essential for our transformation into a healthy agile ecosystem. He moved our attention from process to interactions. With him we explored for the first time things like feedback, trust, respect and real team work.
These things are fundamental for both high quality software and highly engaged engineers.
He helped us move from component teams to feature teams, and coached into solving the big dilemmas of multi-team scrum. We could do without the dad jokes, but they come with the package .

- Bogdan Lucaciu, Chief Technology Officer at Adore Me -
- Mădălina Chelmuș, Scrum Master at Raiffeisen Bank Romania-

The workshop helped me learn more about Scrum framework and to clarify some issues that were unclear before. The information was well structured, the examples and the exercises were very well chosen, thus facilitating an easier understanding of the new concepts. Trainers created a relaxed and pleasant environment being in the same time focused on our goal: to learn more and get prepare for the certification.

- Jasson & Laura Michaud, AppSmith Solutions Founders

We knew that we could do things better in terms of processes and communication so we asked for some help. We reached out to Dovelopers, which was the smart thing to do. From that point everything was easy. They asked the right questions, knew what we needed, what we would like to accomplish and they made a custom plan that would help us reach our objectives. The best thing was the fact that our team liked Cristina and Eduard and felt that they are easy to work with (we think that made a difference). Now we feel that we are on the right path thanks to them. We would strongly recommend them to any company or business that know they can do things better and need some help and guidance.

- Jasson & Laura Michaud, AppSmith Solutions Founders -
- Bogdan Aron, Chief Product Officer at 2Performant

We have worked with Eduard for a 4 months agile coaching program. Eduard had integrated in the team with the role of Scrum Master facilitating daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning and sprint retrospective. Using a variety of retrospective tools and techniques he helped us reflect on improvements, take ownership of the process and integrate new practices. He has great knowledge on Scrum, Kanban and software development, shared it with enthusiasm and showed will to help us make things happen. We definitely had a positive return of investment and I recommend working with Eduard as an Agile Coach.

- Bogdan Aron, Chief Product Officer at 2Performant -
- Andrei Gigirtu, Former Head of Software Business at Adore ME

Eduard had the eye opening type of impact on me and my team as he thought us the subtle buts effective habits of Agile. From him I learned the power of meaningful questions and the art of staying an observer in crucial and tense moments. Combining professional, team coaching with personal coaching techniques truly, helped me overcome my challenges.

Managing interactions. Where to start?

In the previous blog post  I wrote about miscommunication and what it may be shaped liked. Managing interactions is a day to day job and sometimes it can be balanced. And other times, it just doesn’t work as we expected. You can blame it on bad coffee, on the other person, but it won’t help making the matter better. In our programs, one of our core role is to be facilitators. To be supportive and

Five ingredients of miscommunication.

In my professional and personal experience, I find myself in many miscommunication situations. Talking to my friends, clients and work colleagues and looking retrospectively, I came to the conclusion that there are five ingredients that mixed together result in miscommunication. Firstly, we often find ourselves in situations of misunderstanding and disagreement. It sometimes happen, failing to interpret or understand the words or actions of someone correctly. With a little bit of patience and openness, this

Working Agreements. How to set up a safe working space.

I am a fan of working agreements. I see them as a way of getting to know the team you work with. And it is a great technique to enhance safe working spaces. The theory says that working agreements (WA) are a set of rules generated by the entire team in regards to the mindset and behaviour expected within the team. It reduces unwanted friction between team members. It is also known as a ‘social

To do lists and the death of passion in IT. Part Two.

Welcome back to the second part of the To do list blog post 🙋‍♂️. Last time I mentioned about my rediscovery of data structures that felt like a breath of fresh air. If you haven’t read the first part, you can check it out here: https://www.dovelopers.com/to-do-lists-and-the-death-of-passion-in-it-part-one Tree structures are specific to project management oriented towards objectives. A software product can be modeled from a specific objective, that defines a problem,or a requirement. For which a

To do lists and the death of passion in IT. Part One.

I don’t recall meeting someone that works in IT not mentioning about managing long to do lists. I remember being in the same situation in 2014. In those times I was testing so many productivity systems. And list management became the preferred one among my colleagues. Meanwhile, complexity appeared and it transformed into a list of lists of to do. Every discussion about time management became a new list. Each interaction a recording of sorts.

Strategic learning in Scrum teams

While dealing with the increasing complexity of software development, teams need the ability to gain new skills while they work. Fortunately Scrum has some embedded learning with the feedback loops that take the form of Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective. But this kind of learning is more tactical. Meaning it addresses short term challenges, extracting lessons learned and acting upon improving immediately in the next sprint. For example, in the Agile in Romania Study we

Engaging students in product development

Last year we wrote a blog post regarding a cool academic initiative developed by the Cybernetics Faculty (CSIE). Students from the senior year were invited to form teams and build a product during the first semester using Web and Mobile technologies. This March Eduard had the opportunity to share the results of the competition during BucharestJS #EduTech Meetup. The winning team is call FullStackers. Retrospective Q1

First three months of 2019 helped me realise that this year will be different. We had the time to finish up the projects we started in 2018, study the market and prepare for the next initiatives. Our activity in the past years involved forming teams and creating a proper environment for people to collaborate. This need came from the growth goals and the desire to launch new or significantly improved products. This year started with

[Video interview] How can teams maximize productivity?

Eduard had a wonderful time talking to Vlad Andriescu, Editor in Chief at start-up.ro. The interview was about how teams can maximize their productivity. We talked about Agile and software teams. In addition, we finished the talk with 3 things we learned from the past 3 years of entrepreneurship.    Some snippets from the discussion: “2018 was a year in which we managed to grow.  Also from a client perspective as well. The new year is about…

At the end of last year, we took a moment to reflect on how was 2018 for us. It was mostly about courage, action, and learning. And each new beginning of the year finds us thinking on a few words that describe how our approach will be for what is to come. Transitioning between these periods, we also realized that we are embracing strongly one of the Agile Principles.  Simplicity–the art of maximizing the

Launching the Agile Survey in Romania

We want to feel the pulse of Agile within the industry and find out people’s perception of this subject. This is why we are launching a national survey. The questionnaire measures the impact of Agile methodology within organizations that have adopted it as a working method. We aim to discover the most used methods, techniques, and tools. We are also looking at learning practices and other initiatives implemented in teams/organizations. If you are a Scrum

Astazi, in industria IT, disponibilitatea te face mai valoros decat un angajat

Don’t Hold Back Your Daily Scrum Meetings

Sometimes the daily scrum meetings get a bad rap, some argue it’s an outdated practice and a waste of time. This is not your classical article about how a daily scrum is structured. If you need that, Mike Cohn explains it very well here.  It’s rather about why this ritual is important and what can it prevent.   Those 15 minutes of sync and alignment, about what the team needs to work on and clear out misunderstandings

Agile transformed Testing

How Agile transformed Testing

Testing – the island of bugs and production failures, where products and apps crash after a long development trip. Any plan that defers testing to the end of the project is broken. Thankfully, this changed in the past decade, as software development embraced Agile as a mindset and consequently implemented agile development practices as a way of working.  Thus, having continuous feedback loops through implementation lifecycle and spotting those issues in proactively. Using concepts like CI

Rethinking change

The idea of rethinking change appeared while we did a review and retrospective on the past week work. It is something that we do on projects, we zoom in and out on our work, generate ideas and solutions that could be useful in achieving our commitment. It’s a common saying, practice what you preach :). Productivity and software development

I am continuously looking for resources about how and what to measure in order to improve team productivity and efficiency in software development. It is a tough topic because you can either get caught in measuring too many metrics and not be able to synthesize and articulate solutions. Or you can remain blocked only on IT level, without correlating other operations or teams that have an impact during the development and post-production phase. I was looking
